What is Hypnotherapy?
HYPNOTHERAPY involves learning how to use your mind and thoughts in order to clear emotional distress, (i.e., anxiety, trauma), unpleasant physical symptoms (i.e., pain), or to help change certain behaviors or habits (i.e., smoking). You have complete control over the experience and will not do anything you do not want to. Grounded in neuroscience, hypnosis is a skill that can be learned and utilized on a daily basis for maximum desired change.
Can anyone practice hypnotherapy?
HYPNOTHERAPY involves extensive clinical training for licensed professionals and requires adherence to ethical codes and standards of practice. This is what differentiates (clinical) hypnotherapy from hypnosis practiced by unlicensed practitioners. Make sure you check the credentials and training of anyone marketing him or herself as a hypnotherapist or hypnotist.
